Policies
Lateness Policy
Students who arrive more than ten minutes late to class may only be permitted to observe the class, since the beginning of class is critical for warming up and injury prevention. Class observation is still valuable to the learning process, so tardiness beyond ten minutes should not automatically lead to an absence.
Reporting an Absence
We require all absences to be reported as early as possible by emailing information@ridgefielddance.org or calling 203-438-5597.
Illness Policy
To help protect the health of faculty and other students, please keep your child at home if they have a fever, excessive nasal discharge, severe sore throat, complaints of ear pain, eyes that are pink or producing discharge, or diarrhea or vomiting. If any of these symptoms are observed in your child, you may be required to come pick up your child.
Make-up Policy
Refunds are not given for missed or unattended classes, however students may schedule a make-up class in their same level or below (in any discipline) by emailing information@ridgefielddance.org or by calling 203-438-5597. Make-up classes must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, must be taken in the same semester as the missed class, and are dependent on availability for the requested class.
Excused Absences
For regular classes, an excused absence is one that is verified with a doctor’s note for an illness, a death in the family, a religious obligation, a standardized test such as an SAT, a required academic event, or a college visit or audition. For our pre-professional programming including Nutcracker, Ridgefield Civic Ballet, and Junior Dance Ensemble, only illnesses and family emergencies are excused absences.
